It seems part of human nature to people-watch. We’re intrigued by behavior, clothing, hairstyles, tattoos, and other ways people express themselves. I don’t remember hearing a radio psychologist tell one of his guests that he is a role model to young men, whether he wants to be or not.
You are an example to someone, somewhere. That can be a heavy burden to carry. Not only are our actions a reflection of our brand and who we are as individuals, but they can also have an impact on the people around us. Those individuals are not just our friends and family members. Imagine you’re the only positive influence in the life of another person, someone who’s struggling, searching for answers. Your compassion, empathy, ethics, and integrity or lack of any of these may be the tipping point for someone. Are you responsible for others? Yes and no. (Proverbs 22:1)
We are citizens of the world. If we don’t take care of our neighbors, who will?
