We live busy lives, on the go and filling our days with the hustle and bustle of our daily activities. We’re living our best life and making plans to be even better. Are we forgetting to just be present in the current moment?
Mindfulness is the practice of engaging all of your senses to appreciate your environment and the current moment. When we have a free moment to just rest and decompress, it can be difficult to clear our minds of the daily stress and problems. Your emotional and mental health is every bit as important as your physical health. It provides you with the opportunity to approach experiences with an open mind and without preconceived ideas, helping you to see the world through a fresh lens. Like anything else you want, you need to exercise and develop this ability to better appreciate your life.
Mindfulness doesn’t require any advanced skills, just a willingness to invest in yourself. (Romans 15:13)
