There’s this person you really want to like. You admire so much about them, but you know their faults and shortcomings. Sometimes the most difficult person to like is oneself.
You think about where you’ve been, where you’re going, and what you’d like to accomplish. You dwell on the person you were compared to the person you’ve become. You remember your failures more readily than your successes. Those moments you wish you could rewind the clock and have a “do-over” mock you at your weakest moments. Yet, you’re the only one affected by all of this drama playing out on the stage of your mind fueled by your memory and insecurities. You have to give yourself the same grace you do others; accept yourself for who you are. How do you learn to truly accept and love others if you turn away from yourself?
Before you can find inner peace, you have to respect who you are, like and love yourself, and support who you are becoming. (Genesis 1:27)
