Don’t I already do that? Aren’t I enjoying the time I’m spending with family and friends? How often do you find your mind wandering to all the things you haven’t done, need to do, or want to do? This is a mind full and not mindfulness. Surprisingly, this can be incredibly difficult for us to do.
Focusing on the present moment and the people with you is refreshing and rewarding. Live that moment; cherish it because some are never repeated. Life is precious. You can be physically present but your mind is busy working on your schedule, grocery list, or some project. I promise there are snapshots of time when you were completely involved you will carry with you through life that will refresh you on days when you’re emotionally tired. (Psalms 19:1)
Be totally involved in conversations. Be mentally and physically present at your children’s events—they notice.
