As we move through life—time and space—we explore areas and spaces that induce different feelings in us. There are places that energize us, sadden us, and comfort us. Our soul searches and longs for that place that soothes and nourishes it.
This is the place that calms you on your worst days. That space you can’t imagine not returning to again and again. Your soul knows this heaven on earth. It doesn’t matter where you roam in the world, there’s part of you waiting in “your place” to be reunited with the rest of you when you return; you are claimed. Sometimes you visit a site that truly speaks to you. You know in your heart you were meant to visit this place in the world. I’ve experienced that a few times and expect to do so again. But, so far, nowhere has surpassed my Eden, my place of renewal.
They say “you can take the girl of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the girl.” Wherever I wander, there’s no place like the farm. (Psalm 119:114)
