We live in a society that scorns help and lauds self-sufficiency. Men don’t cry; if women ask for help, they’re letting down the sisterhood. People wake up! We all need help throughout our life.
When you help someone, I know you receive unimaginable joy knowing that you were instrumental in their success, healing, or just making it through a crisis. Would you rob others of that very same experience by turning away from their help when you’re in need because of your pride? Not only might you need the help, but you are denying others what you have received when you’ve been able to help someone in need.
It’s not easy to ask for help, even if it’s just asking someone to pray for you or to talk you through a difficult time. But you will both be blessed by the experience. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
