Our life is a constant shuffle from one appointment or activity to another. We’re measuring our worth and productivity by how many meetings we have scheduled. Ask yourself this: “What did I actually accomplish?”
There is untold value in stillness and allowing your mind to calm. Don’t try to find answers or solve problems; just enjoy a peaceful moment where you aren’t required to do anything other than enjoy the sounds, sights (if they’re not too distracting), and smells around you. It’s an opportunity for your brain to reset and recharge. Sometimes it’s just that simple. If you’re constantly working to fill your days and weeks with activities or meetings, what are you running from? (Mark 4:39)
