Soldiers, firefighters, police officers, these top our list of the brave. They are courageous and sometimes fearless, as that’s what their jobs demand. They made a choice to pursue these careers. I honor and admire their dedication and valor. Let me tell you about my sisters.
My Teal Sisters are faced with some devastating choices. Do I participate in this Phase I trial that’s been offered (this is the first time this medication has been tested in humans)? Do I take this chemo with the harsh side effects (sometimes they seem worse than the cancer)? I choose to stop all treatment because they leave me with no quality of life, and that is more important than quantity. All of these choices took so much courage to make that I am in awe of my sisters who have made the choices and those with other diseases who do so as well.
It takes a great deal of courage to have toxic chemicals injected in your body in the hope that it will kill your own mutated cells. Prayers to all who are fighting this enemy—you’re braver than you think you are. (Joshua 1:9)
