We’re now two weeks into a new year. Holiday celebrations are a memory, and we’re once again caught up in the busyness of our schedules. Did you revisit your goal list for this year (we’re not calling them resolutions)? It’s easy to put our dreams and goals aside for the reality of our everyday schedule, but we need to feed our souls.
Let’s look at that list—even if it’s a mental list. What one thing keeps nibbling at the corners of your consciousness? What concept causes ideas to pop into your mind about what or how you can make this dream a reality? This goal may be as simple as carving out time to walk every day—although it might not be simple because you need childcare to make it happen. It may be the complex undertaking of opening your own business. Or it may be the dauntingly personal venture of writing a blog or social media posts. What can you do, who can you enlist for help, to make your goal or dream a reality?
My goal of blogging came about within the past year and has been germinating for almost three years—unbeknownst to me. My posts are a need to share what GOD lays on my heart daily and how my life has changed, how I have grown through my circumstances. My posts are me, and every word comes from a place of love and caring. (John 13:34) Posting personal writings on the internet is on par with standing naked on a busy street corner. You lay yourself bare, open for criticism or praise or indifference. But sometimes the goal outweighs the possibility of the negative results. We press on towards the prize—whatever that may be.
What goal have you started? Congratulations! Please share and let us know what you’re doing this year to be the best you.
What goal are you postponing? Do you have a plan? Have you reached out to friends and family for help? Your imagination is usually more frightening than reality—you’re ready to take steps to make your dream real.
