Don’t Settle

Do you settle for mediocrity or do you aspire for excellence? Everything you do in life provides an opportunity for you to shine; it just depends on whether or not you want to expend the effort required to do a superior job.

Some jobs we just want to finish—cleaning the bathroom, cutting the grass. Others we take great pride in completing to the best of our ability—baking a cake, crafting a project. As a child, when my mother checked my homework, she would ask me, “Did you do your best?” That phrase has stayed with me through life and is the litmus test for all that I do. (Philippians 4:8)

Do you have a benchmark by which you measure your accomplishments? Not everything you do has to be excellent, but remember, somethings you do represent who you are to the world.
