How do you define integrity? Conventional understanding is honesty, high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and reliability. All of these are high ideals that are attainable, but many seem to find them constrictive, arbitrary, or just for other people. By what standards do you measure integrity?
I find it interesting that some expect integrity in others yet color outside the lines of any of the basic tenets of the concept. We live in a time where artificial intelligence (AI) is answering our Google questions. Videos and pictures we see on TV, the internet, and social media may be created via AI. We need to fact-check the information we’re accessing due to so much misinformation. You don’t need money or an important job to have principles; you just need a conscience.
I was taught that all I really have in this world that’s mine is my “good name,” my integrity. It’s difficult to live in a gray world when you think in black and white. (Proverbs 11:3)
