The poets have written eloquent lines extolling the virtues and glories of love. Lyricists have written songs and authors novels on the boundless joys and wonders of love.
But…”If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13:1) We are reminded here that there is more to love than pretty words and phrases.
Without action, those words of love are like nails on a chalkboard or discordant cymbals clanging random sounds. There is no song without a beautiful melody (the physical help, acts of love) to accompany the lyrics.
Life is a song of love.
