The root cause of most problems is a lack of an interchange of thoughts and ideas. You need a basic understanding of the other side of the argument before you can begin to craft a solution. You can’t always find those answers on the internet. You need to engage in serious and respectful dialogue.
Politics and religion are two of the most divisive topics of conversation. They are polarizing. If we don’t exchange ideas in an open and judgement-free manner, we won’t be able to make improvements, changes, or we be able to fully and accurately understand each other. Listening and sharing beliefs doesn’t convey agreement. What it does do is offer empathy and a willingness to accept that we are all unique individuals and a necessary part of this grand tapestry of life. (Psalm 139:14)
Be willing to have a conversation to learn more about those you see as different from you. You may be surprised by how much you have in common.
