We’re faced with choices everywhere and everyday; some are simple with no major bearing on our life. Some decisions can change the entire direction.
Ask questions of your experts—make lists of those questions so you won’t forget when you meet. Research the information you’re provided (the internet has a wealth of facts at your fingertips). Then ask more questions if necessary. Don’t be afraid to ask—the only bad question is the one not asked. If your expert resents your questions or dismisses them, find a new specialist.
Let’s be real here, usually we won’t question doctors. We’ll go toe-to-toe with the mechanic who repairs our car, the plumber or the HVAC mechanic, but when it comes to our health many let the doctor direct the path without question. THIS IS YOUR LIFE! You have to live with the outcome of the treatment you receive. Ask the questions and yes, ask for their expert advice. But please do your own research so you know at least the basics. Ask the doctor to explain in greater detail if necessary.
Don’t make life choices in ignorance or by the roll of the dice. Sometimes you don’t get a second chance. YOU are important and valuable. Don’t settle for less than you’re worth. (Luke 12:6-7)
