I’m here, standing before you, baring my soul, sharing my innermost thoughts. Are you looking through me? Are you even giving me the attention necessary to know what I’m talking about if I asked you a question? Do you know my heart, my dreams, my hurts, my past? Have you taken the time to get to know me? Do you really care to find out who I am?
Have you ever felt this way around someone or a group of people? Sometimes it happens because they need to be the center of attention. Others don’t realize what they’re doing and therefore don’t take the time to truly invest in a relationship. Then there are those who simply don’t have the capacity to form a human connection.
Be the person who really sees others. Show them how much they are valued and loved. (Genesis 16:13)
