Animals are captivating in their behavior. They’re beautiful, entertaining, and their problem-solving capabilities are fascinating. They have a social order that often mimics our own, yet surprisingly they show more compassion than humans.
Animals and their behavior intrigue me. If there is an animal experience, I’m there. At the Richmond Metro Zoo, a cheetah has a dog friend that lives with him in the enclosure. They’ve been raised together since they were a cub and a puppy. Yesterday, I watched my horse Sophie babysitting a seven-day-old calf while its mother was eating. If this type of love, friendship, and care can occur in the animal kingdom, why do we, as the apex predator, the smartest animal on the planet, have difficulties taking care of others? (Romans 12:10)
There’s a lot we can learn from observing the world around us. Are you ready and willing to take the time to make a difference?
