As we gain access to more information, no longer is the world akin to a child’s shadow play. Like Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” from The Republic, we have the opportunity to be released from our chains of ignorance to humankind’s plight and need around the world and in our communities. We still won’t have all the information we need, but it’s a good start for spreading love and helping others.
For now, we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:12)
The world is no longer as small as it once was. The internet, social media, and mass communication bring the world into our homes and communities.
