How simplistic this sounds and how simple you must think I am. When you see the anger, hate, disrespect, and dysfunction, you wonder, “How can we heal?” Notice I say heal and not fix. Fix denotes a short-term resolution. We need a solution, a cure. We need to heal.
With all of the knowledge that we have, all of the data analytics, projections, predictions, and yes, prognostications, there is still so much hate and anger all over the world.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:8b)
Why do we hate? Why are we angry with [fill in the blank]? What amazes and humbles me is the forgiveness a family extends to a murderer of a loved one. They release themselves from carrying the darkness of hate. In forgiving the convicted, there is hope that the cycle of hate is broken, and positive change begins.
Love is always about your heart. What can we overcome today?
