The end of anything usually brings a time of reflection, analysis, and contemplation. What did I do this past year? Did I complete the projects/goals I set for myself? Do I have anything to show for what I did in the past 12 months? Did I make a difference?
Some rather profound and potentially weighty questions. Not everyone wants to look that deeply and examine their mind, their soul. Do it. You might really be surprised how you made an impact on another’s life, changed someone’s outlook, possibly changed the world. Don’t discount your contribution, your help to anyone as being of no value. All help is valuable. (Hebrews 13:16)
I personally know of a woman who mentors young mothers, another woman who is a fierce advocate with politicians through a national organization for ovarian cancer research, a couple who are responsible for their church’s food pantry, an ovarian cancer warrior who runs marathons to raise money for ovarian cancer research. All of these are impactful, yet none are unattainable (well, I’m not a runner so that one is out for me; however, I guess I could cycle).
We change the world by first changing the world around us, seeing a need and filling that need when we can. You’re probably already doing it without realizing or thinking about it. Thank you for helping to make this a better world 🌎.
