They’re unavoidable. No matter how well you plan or how diligent you are, you will have adversities in life. Some of your making and some that are completely out of your control. There are lessons to be learned in all circumstances.
Have you ever wondered where you would be or how your life would be different if a pivotal event had not occurred? I have spent time reflecting on such a moment from when I was twenty-three. As devastating as that chapter in my life was, it changed me and the direction of my life and my family’s. My diagnosis has opened my eyes, helping me appreciate life and the world around me. I’ve met amazing women that I never would have encountered. I stepped out of my comfort zone to go places I would have postponed indefinitely. I’ve found my voice; whether the product is a project or part of my legacy is yet to be determined.
I’ve learned to be thankful in all circumstances and to look for life’s lessons everywhere. If this is the road I have to travel, I refuse to waste the journey. (Colossians 3:15)
