Today is the traditional day of rest, but in our 24/7 society we’ve forgotten the need for refreshment and the actual how to of it. Your body, mind, and spirit can only do and process so much in a given period of time without protesting, revolting. (Genesis 2:2)
You may laugh, but think about how you’re rushing and filling your days without a time to renew and rest. You may become grumpy or short tempered, forgetful, lose focus, your body may physically react to such a point you become ill. Stress and lack of rest affect you emotionally, mentally, and physically. You are more important than many of the things on your to-do list. (Jeremiah 31:25)
Trim your list and activities to what brings you joy and adds value to your life and the life of others, but make sure you schedule time for yourself. If you’re not healthy, refreshed, and joyful, you can’t share that with others. We’re all a Work in Progress (WIP).
