Summer

This weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer. Families are opening pools for the season, hosting cookouts, or kicking back and enjoying a long weekend. What does this summer mean to you?

Summer is fresh tomato sandwiches; nothing tastes as good as a tomato fresh from the garden. It’s about the clean, ripe scent of fresh-cut hay. The smell of gentle rain showers. It’s watching the lightning bugs light up the yard after dusk. Soft dawns and colorful sunsets that mark the beginning and ending of each day. The birds, calling to each other early in the morning, the start of a new day. This is my summer.

Each season has beauty to offer. Sometimes you have to use all of your senses to appreciate it.  (Ecclesiastes 3:11a)
