The First Step

What is your first step to meeting a goal? Are you overwhelmed just by the idea of undertaking something new, adding something else to your schedule?

Choose the best time of day for this endeavor. Block the time off on your calendar—if it’s meaningful, you’ll put it on your schedule. Remember, this is not a sprint but a marathon. Just concentrate on the first step.

So, I took the first step this week to meet an objective on my frequently mentioned spreadsheet of endeavors. I chose what I consider a foundational goal, one I can use as a building block for other more in-depth pursuits. It’s simple and basic. I’ll review my list of other points that can build on this, enrich this goal, and take it to a higher level.

I’m not saying it will be easy, but it will be worth it. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
