This sounds counterintuitive to what I’ve been sharing. I’m not trying to dissuade you from a dream or a goal. This is about our interpersonal relationships and possibly how they affect our life and our goals.
I’m frequently reminded by two close family members that I project my own values and expectations on other people. That’s why I am disappointed when others don’t react the way I expect. Only I have lived my life and done so with the emotional and mental reactions that I have. It’s time to let go of that way of measuring my success or growth. However, it is important to me to provide encouragement and support to others because I understand how valuable it is. I also realize it’s easy to lose myself always prioritizing others. Life is about balance; there’s joy to be found in helping others, but don’t forget yourself in the process.
My goals are mine. They’re not grand like others’ and they may not make an impact on the world, but they’re meaningful and rewarding to me. (Ephesians 3:20)
