Every day is a learning experience or rather an opportunity to learn. We have so much information literally at our fingertips. We can research most any topic at any time of the day or night. This is a great time to be alive. Or is it?
This 24/7 society we inhabit also allows us the ability to access someone else’s opinion on any given subject. Hold that thought.
Throughout all that we pursue on this quest, whether it be for entertainment, educational, or informational purposes, we form an opinion of the pieces we seek out or just happen to scroll through on social media. Social platforms provide everyone a global arena to voice an opinion and in some cases seek validation.
Ah…validation. Validation is the act of seeking recognition or affirmation, acceptance from another or others. There’s nothing wrong with wanting praise. Honestly, I like to see the “reaction” emojis to my posts. It lets me know that someone has read them. What is most important to me is that something I wrote positively impacted someone’s life. Yes, I seek validation in this way. However, my prize, my kudos, is how I feel when from a job well done. When the words flow from a place that is not “self”. I begin my day guided to write what I do. I am unable to do so the night before, I am completely blocked. (Isaiah 30:21)
Let’s pick up the previous thought. Someone else’s opinion is fine. I frequently ask my husband for his…he tells me it’s worth everything I pay for it. You need to understand your own value and realize that the validation of society is secondary. Do YOU accept who you are?
