Those that came before us 249 years ago weren’t special; they didn’t have any unique skills or weapons. They weren’t endowed with otherworldly powers and didn’t have control of their government. What they did have was a dream and a desire for self-governance.
Where would we be today if our ancestors had stayed huddled fearfully in their homes and continued to allow the British to determine their future? Tax them without representation, a voice? Where would we be if they had not decided, “No more!”
Our freedom came at a price; it is not free. Don’t take for granted what others have provided and do not forget to honor them by continuing to support the foundation of our country, the Constitution of the United States of America. (Galatians 5:1)
